Walking the dog in the neighborhood, carry your personal pepper spray gel or foam to prevent an attack.
When you take a walk with your dog, you shouldn’t have to be worried about anything and especially shouldn’t have to be afraid of people, but sometimes people are bad and they try to do things to other people. Some dogs will not allow you to do anything to their owner or any family member, but some are just too small and cute, and are not really the kind of dogs that can protect or defend. Whether your dog is tiny and looks like it runs on batteries, or huge and seems like it could be a pony, YOU should carry pepper spray.
These are devices that have been around for years, and are completely legal in almost all of the fifty states. They are small and compact and are just like carrying around a small aerosol can, except that it doesn’t contain hairspray or breath freshener, it contains a solution that is partially 10% (or higher) Oleo Resin Capsicum Pepper which is probably rated at two million Scoville Heat Units, or higher, and can stop an attacker in his proverbial tracks!

Recently the crime rate has been going down in my area. They say it is because of better crime-fighting techniques and greater police presence, but that is only half of the story. Individual homeowners have also been a major part of the solution, mainly because they increased the security of their homes in recent years. On my block, it is a common sight to see security alarm stickers on the windows and surveillance cameras above the doors. By taking responsibility for their own home security, the people in my neighborhood have also made their community safer place to be. I am sure that if you take your own home security more seriously, and put in a home alarm system, you and your neighbors will reap great benefits.
You must face the fact that crime is prevalent in this day and age. You need to take steps to provide your home with better protection, to keep your family safe and your possessions secure. Of course, you can just get yourself a gun. That may be good for giving yourself a sense of security, but it may not be good enough. After all, you can only use a gun if someone is threatening to break into your home or has already entered and is endangering your life and property. But you should have a means of keeping criminals away from your home in the first place. You need something that can act as a deterrent to intruders–even when you are not at home to put up a fight.

The multi-function, Barking Dog Alarm system takes advantage of high tech electronic radar -wave sense control to keep your home, apartment or business safe from would-be intruders or burglars. The unit stands only nine inches tall but the sensitivity of the radar utilized in this home security device is adjustable from 10 to 20 feet, and the volume of the dog’s bark is also adjustable.
This device is AC powered on your standard home electricity – 110 Volts, however, it also takes eight (8) “AA” batteries (not included) that serve as a back-up in the event that your home’s power supply is disrupted by a storm, an accident or by a burglar. The technology this tool uses allows it to “see” through wood, cement, brick, glass, etc.

When it comes to somewhat-negligent advice for protecting a home or apartment, one of the most common pieces of knowledge is simply “get a dog!” And while this can sometimes be suggested in a tongue-in-cheek manner, the fact is that there are a lot of people who feel a whole lot safer with a canine companion around the house. For those who are living alone or the elderly, having the extra friendship of an animal can serve as a helpful way to stay happy, while also serving as a bit of a safety net in case of an emergency. After all, there are countless stories that involve pets being smart enough to keep barking.
While that might not be the proper substitution for other forms of home security, it’s not a bad idea to consider the benefits of having four-legged friends around the house. The first step, of course, is making sure that having a dog is not going to interfere with any existing safety measures that homeowners have invested in. Sometimes, after bringing home a puppy, people will report that they experience a higher number of false alarms in terms of their home security system. This is often due to the fact that sensors are placed in a way to accommodate a home pre-puppy, meaning that sudden movements in the middle of the night will be a problem and sometimes set off the alarm. Simply calling up the company and asking them to check things out can prevent these misfires, and keep your home safe while still allowing your pup the freedom to roam.
